Après le premier Championnat du Monde de horse ball et la victoire de l'équipe de France, la rédaction de www.horse-ball.org a souhaité se pencher sur le développement du horse ball dans le Monde. Une série d'interviews a été réalisée afin de connaître comment le horse ball évolue, au-delà des frontières françaises...

- www.horse-ball.org : Bonjour, pouvez-vous vous présenter ? Quel est votre rôle au sujet du horse ball dans votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : Je suis membre du conseil d'administration du horse ball Deutscher Verband eV (DHBV eV), qui est l'association qui s'occupe du horse ball en Allemagne. Cette structure a un pouvoir exclusif sur la dicipline dans le pays.
- www.horse-ball.org : Hello, could you please present yourself ? What is your role in the Horse ball sport in your country ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : I am member of the board of the Deutscher horse ball Verband e.V. (DHBV e.V.) that is the association of the horse ball sport in germany who has the sole power of representation.

- www.horse-ball.org : Depuis combien d'années le horse ball a-t-il fait son apparition dans votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : En Allemagne le horse ball a été introduit en 1992, donc depuis environ 16 ans.
- www.horse-ball.org : For how many years horse ball made its appearance in your country ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : Horse ball was introduced in germany in 1992, so horse ball is played about 16 years.

- www.horse-ball.org : Comment s’organise le horse ball dans votre pays ? Avez-vous des instances dirigeantes et politiques ? Comment s’organisent les compétitions et les championnats ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : Jusqu'à présent, le horse ball est une discipline indépendante. Elle n'est pas reconnu par la Fédération Nationale d'Equitation Allemande. Chaque club où horse-ball est joué, ou qui est intéressé par le horse ball, peut compter sur le soutien de la DHBV eV. Chaque année, il y a plusieurs compétitions amicales. Malheureusement, un championnat ne peut pas encore avoir lieu.
- www.horse-ball.org : How is the horse ball organized in your country ? Do you have a leadership and politician ? How you organize your competitions and championships ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : So far horse ball is an independent discipline and not yet recognized by the Federation National d’Equitation de l’Allemagne (FN). Every club where Horseball is played or who is interested in horse ball can count on the support of the DHBV e.V. There are several friendly competition within a year, a championship could not yet be held.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quel est le nombre de joueurs, d’équipes... ? Comment s’organisent les catégories et/ou les championnats dans votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : En Allemagne, il y a cinq clubs de horse ball. Le nombre total de joueurs actifs (ceux qui jouent au moins une fois par semaine) est d'environ 50.
- www.horse-ball.org : How many teams exist in your country ? How you organize your championship and / or the categories ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : In germany there are five clubs where horse ball is played regularly. The total number of active players (those who are playing at least once a week) is about 50.

- www.horse-ball.org : Comment est perçu le horse ball dans votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : Le horse ball n'est pas encore assez developpé au point de pouvoir parler de respect ou d'acceptation de celui-ci en Allemagne.
- www.horse-ball.org : How is horse ball respected in your country ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : Horse ball is not adequately developed yet even to speak about respect or acceptance of it in germany.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quelles sont les difficultés que vous rencontrez pour le développement du horse ball dans votre pays ? Quels sont également les points forts sur lesquels vous vous reposez pour promouvoir la discipline ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : L’equitation en Allemagne est très axé sur le dressage, le saut d'obstacles et le concours complet. Une jeune discipline comme le horse ball est souvent difficile à intégrer au clubs, qui veulent conserver l'équitation classique. Il y a des demandes de jeunes cavaliers, mais souvent cela se traduit par un échec quand ces joueurs sont confrontés aux coûts de participation aux concours. Comme le sport n'est pas encore développé dans le monde entier, il est presque impossible de recueillir des fonds.
- www.horse-ball.org : What are the difficulties you encounter for the development of horse ball in your country ? What are the strengths on which you trust to promote the discipline ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : Equitation in germany still has its focus on the dressage, show jumping and eventing. A young disciplince like the horse ball sport raises often hackles with the club owners that want to conserver the classical equitation. An increased demand by young riders leads more often to a first contact with this sport, but finally it often fails when the players are confronted with the costs of participating at competitions. As the sport isn’t developed yet worldwide it is almost impossible to raise funds.

- www.horse-ball.org : D’après vous, que vous faut-il pour que le horse ball puisse se développer davantage dans votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : À mon avis, l'un des plus gros obstacles est l'absence du nombre de jeunes joueurs. Si nous avions une bonne base de jeunes joueurs, cela conduirait peut-être à un bond en avant qui forcerait les clubs et propriétaires à appuyer le développement de la discipline, ou à l'accepter. Nous avons également un problème de perspectives : s'il y avait un championnat, par exemple, les joueurs pourraient avoir des objectifs.
- www.horse-ball.org : In your opinion, which is missing in your country to develop the horse ball ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : In my opinion one of the highest hurdles is the missing number of young players. If we had a base of a higher number of young players maybe this would lead to a demand pull that would force club owners and regional associations maybe to support but at least to accept the sport. Another problem are the missing perspectives: If there was already something like a championship the players would have an objective.

- www.horse-ball.org : La FIHB est elle impliquée dans le développement du horse ball de votre pays ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : Jusqu'à présent, il n'y a pas de participation active de la FIHB dans le développement du horse ball en Allemagne, mais il convient de signaler que du côté de la DHBV eV, nous n'avons pas demandé le soutien de la FIHB pour le développement du horse ball. Peut-être, dans un avenir proche, nous allons utiliser les offres de la FIHB, si nous pensons que cela puisse être intéressant.
- www.horse-ball.org : The FIHB is she involved in the development of horse-ball in your country ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : So far there is no active involvement of the FIHB in the development in germany, but it should be mentioned that from the side of the DHBV e.V. there was no demand for support by the FIHB regarding the development. Maybe in the near future we will make use of the offers from the FIHB if we think that they could bring a real advantage.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quels sont vos projets et vos choix de développement pour le horse ball dans les années à venir ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Allemagne) : Le principal objectif est de créer une base de jeunes joueurs ou joueuses, et d'essayer de faire accepter le discipline par les décideurs du monde équestre et par les clubs.
- www.horse-ball.org : What are your plans and your choice to develop horse ball in the coming years ?
- Dimitris Papageorgiou (Germany) : The main focus will be to create a base of young players (youth work) and to increase the acceptance by decision makers, especially club owners.
