Après le premier Championnat du Monde de horse ball et la victoire de l'équipe de France, la rédaction de www.horse-ball.org a souhaité se pencher sur le développement du horse ball dans le Monde. Une série d'interviews a été réalisée afin de connaître comment le horse ball évolue, au-delà des frontières françaises...

- www.horse-ball.org : Bonjour, pouvez-vous vous présenter ? Quel est votre rôle au sujet du horse ball dans votre pays ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : J'ai commencé le horse ball en 1999, au Rancho Canabrava Brasilia-DF. Aujourd'hui, je suis le Président de la première association de ce sport au Brésil : la ABHB (Association Brésilienne de Horse Ball, fondée en Mai 2002).
- www.horse-ball.org : Hello, could you please present yourself ? What is your role in the Horse ball sport in your country ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : I started playing horse ball in 1999 at Rancho Canabrava Brasilia-DF. Today, I am the first President of the first Association of the sport in Brazil : the ABHB (Association of Brazilians Horse Ball, founded in May 2002).

- www.horse-ball.org : Depuis combien d'années le horse ball a-t-il fait son apparition dans votre pays ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : En 1992, le brésilien Paulo Canabrava, formé par les Ecuries du Roi portugais, est revenu avec un amour pour le horse ball. La discipline s’est développée dans les États de São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, et Distrito Federal. Ensuite, le horse ball a fait son apparition dans le Rio Grande do Sul. Nous avons eu un premier stage international à Sao Paulo, avec des intervenants portugais : Luis Mathias, Joaquim Mota et Frederico Cannas. En 2003 et 2004, nous avons suivi des cours de perfectionnement au Portugal, avec la participation de cavaliers de Sao Paulo et de Rio Grande do Sul. Au moment où un championnat se déroulait en Espagne, le Brésil a adhéré à la FIHB.
- www.horse-ball.org : For how many years horse ball made its appearance in your country ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : In 1992, the Brazilian Paulo Canabrava, formed by the Portuguese Royal Stables, came back to Brazil with a love for horse ball. The discipline was developed in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Distrito Federal. Thenthe horse ball made its appearance in Rio Grande do Sul. We had the first international course in São Paulo with Portuguese players: Luis Mathias, Joaquim Mota and Frederico Cannas. In 2003 and in 2004, we organized refresher courses in Portugal with the participation of riders from São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. At the time of a championship league which took place in Spain, Brazil has joined the FIHB.

- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Le Brésil a deux entités dédiées au développement du horse ball, la première a été fondée en mai 2002, elle est appelée ABHB (Association Brésilienne de Horse Ball), j'en suis le Président, puis la seconde, créée en 2004 avec le Président M.Jérôme Teixeira.
- www.horse-ball.org : How is the horse ball organized in your country ? Do you have a leadership and politician ? How you organize your competitions and championships ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : Brazil has two entities dedicated to the development of horse ball, the first was founded in May 2002 and is called ABHB (Association of Brazilian Horse Ball), for which I am the current President, then the second, created in 2004 with its President Jerome Teixeira.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quel est le nombre de joueurs, d’équipes... ? Comment s’organisent les catégories et/ou les championnats dans votre pays ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Aujourd'hui, au Brésil, nous avons environ 22 équipes et un total d'environ 110 joueurs.
- www.horse-ball.org : How many teams exist in your country ? How you organize your championship and / or the categories ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : Today, we have about 22 teams and a total of about 110 players in Brazil.

- www.horse-ball.org : Comment est perçu le horse ball dans votre pays ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Le horse ball est une discipline respectée au Brésil. Nous avons des passionnés et des supporters. Cependant nous estimons que l’investissement des organismes, comme la Confédération Brésilienne d'Equitation et le Ministère des Sports, est insuffisant.
- www.horse-ball.org : How is horse ball respected in your country ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : The horse ball is a respected discipline Brazil. We have fans and supporters. However, we believe that the investment of the agencies, such as the Conferderation of Brazilian Equestrian and Sports Ministry, is inadequate.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quelles sont les difficultés que vous rencontrez pour le développement du horse ball dans votre pays ? Quels sont également les points forts sur lesquels vous vous reposez pour promouvoir la discipline ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Le horse ball est un sport qui passe très bien à la télévision, mais nous avons de grandes difficultés à promouvoir la discipline dans tout le pays, en raison de la grande superficie du territoire et du manque d'investissement de la part du gouvernement.
- www.horse-ball.org : What are the difficulties you encounter for the development of horse ball in your country ? What are the strengths on which you trust to promote the discipline ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : The horse ball is a sport that will find easy acceptance in the television medias, but we have great difficulties to promote the discipline in the country, because of our large land area and the lack of investment from the government.

- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : Dissemination and promotion.

- www.horse-ball.org : La FIHB est elle impliquée dans le développement du horse ball de votre pays ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Non pas du tout.
- www.horse-ball.org : The FIHB is she involved in the development of horse-ball in your country ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : No in any case.

- www.horse-ball.org : Quels sont vos projets et vos choix de développement pour le horse ball dans les années à venir ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brésil) : Eh bien, il faut que les entités sportives sur l’ensemble du pays aident au développement du horse ball, notamment en formant des représentants et des promoteurs de ce sport. Nous pourrons ainsi créer une équipe de promotion solide et augmenter le nombre de pratiquants. Nous voulons aussi développer des projets sociaux pour les enfants, en organisant des échanges et des formations dans des pays où le horse ball est plus développé. Et enfin, nous espérons organiser un Championnat du Monde de horse ball au Brésil !
- www.horse-ball.org : What are your plans and your choice to develop horse ball in the coming years ?
- Leonardo Bueno da Costa (Brasil) : Well, we need sports entities across the country to help the development of the horse ball, including the training of representatives and promoters of the sport. We must create a strong promotion team and increase the number of practitioners. Furthermore, we would like to develop social projects for children, organizing exchanges and trainings in countries where the horse ball is more developed. And finally, we hope to organize a World Championship of horse ball in Brazil !
